Description

Service to Success is supporting a leading public defense technology company hiring Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineers to support some of the most critical software deployments across the U.S. Government.

This role sits on a global infrastructure team responsible for ensuring the company’s platforms run reliably across classified, commercial, cloud, and on-premise environments. The team supports high-impact national security missions where uptime, performance, security, and speed matter, and where infrastructure engineers are expected to own real production outcomes rather than sit far from the mission.

You will work closely with forward-deployed engineering teams, product teams, and government customers to deploy new products, support customer environments, perform migrations, manage configuration and upgrades, improve monitoring and alerting, and automate operational workflows. The work is hands-on, production-facing, and highly technical, with exposure to complex systems operating in demanding government environments.

This is a strong fit for infrastructure engineers, SREs, DevOps engineers, or platform engineers who want the resources and scale of a public market technology company, but the pace, ownership, and mission proximity of a forward-deployed engineering team.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, site reliability engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, systems engineering, or a related field
  • Experience supporting production infrastructure across cloud, on-premise, and EDGE or DISCONNECTED environments
  • Willingness to work hybrid from Washington, D.C. or New York and travel frequently (25%+), depending on team and customer needs
  • Experience operating, debugging, or supporting production software systems
  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems and containerized environments
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or similar infrastructure automation tools
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues involving configuration, networking, deployments, monitoring, alerting, and system reliability
  • Strong scripting or programming ability, ideally with Java, Python, Bash, or similar languages
  • Interest in automating workflows, runbooks, deployments, migrations, and operational processes
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Comfort working with forward-deployed teams and supporting software in customer environments
