About This Role

The Mission:

A venture-backed intelligence platform is hiring a Head of Intelligence to take ownership of its investigative function and scale it. This is not a strategy role. This is an execution role. You will lead from the front—conducting high-level OSINT investigations, building repeatable processes, and working directly with engineering to turn manual tradecraft into scalable systems. The strategy is already defined. The value is proven. The focus now is execution at scale.

What You’ll Own:

  • Conducting and leading structured OSINT investigations to identify individuals, aliases, and hidden social media activity
  • Uncovering post-claim behavior that contradicts reported narratives
  • Mapping fraud networks and identity relationships across claims using link analysis techniques
  • Identifying and integrating off-the-shelf OSINT and intelligence tools into workflows
  • Partnering with engineering and data science to convert investigative work into structured data signals
  • Building repeatable, scalable processes for intelligence collection, validation, and documentation
  • Producing intelligence outputs that support investigations, litigation, and client decisions
  • Managing a small team of offshore analysts, with the opportunity to scale over time

Requirements

What It Takes:

  • Hands-on OSINT expertise—you’ve personally done the work, not just managed it
  • Ability to find individuals who don’t want to be found, across social media, public records, and open sources - Experience with network and link analysis—you think in relationships, not individuals
  • Background in intelligence, fraud, or investigative environments (military, government, or private sector) - Comfort working closely with technical teams (data, engineering, ML)
  • Ability to translate investigative logic into structured, scalable workflows
  • 3–7 years of experience, still deeply execution-focused
  • Willingness to be fully on-site in NYC (no remote or hybrid) Strongly Preferred
  • Military intelligence, HUMINT, SIGINT, or CI background
  • Experience in federal or national security environments (threat intel, fraud, counter-disinformation)
  • Familiarity with commercial OSINT tools (e.g., Recorded Future, Maltego, Babel Street, Skopenow)
  • Experience in insurance fraud, financial crime, or litigation support - Exposure to graph databases or network visualization tools
  • Spanish, Portuguese, or other relevant language skills
